🏛️ Major Historical Milestones
- 1- 1111: Henry V is Crowned. He is crowned Holy Roman Emperor by Pope Paschal II in Rome, solidifying his control over the empire, although it marks the beginning of complex negotiations regarding the Investiture Controversy.
- 2 -1204: The Fall of Constantinople (Fourth Crusade). Crusaders of the Fourth Crusade breach the city walls and sack Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire. This catastrophic event effectively creates the Latin Empire and severely cripples Byzantine power for centuries.
- 3 – 1598: The Edict of Nantes. Henry IV of France signs the Edict of Nantes, granting significant rights to French Protestants (Huguenots), thus largely ending the French Wars of Religion.
- 4 – 1829: Roman Catholic Relief Act. The Parliament of the United Kingdom passes the Roman Catholic Relief Act, which removes many of the historical legal restrictions placed on Roman Catholics in Great Britain and Ireland.

- 6 – 1742: Handel’s Messiah Premieres. The premiere of George Frideric Handel’s iconic oratorio Messiah is held in Dublin, Ireland. It has since become one of the most beloved and widely performed choral works.
- 7 – 1970: Apollo 13 Accident. A fuel cell oxygen tank explodes aboard the Apollo 13 spacecraft (“Houston, we have a problem”), forcing the mission to abandon its lunar landing and prompting a dramatic and perilous rescue mission.
